Atlas Armor Hurricane Screens

Our Atlas Armor Hurricane Screens have been tested and approved by Palm Beach County and are currently the ONLY roll down fabric they have approved for hurricane protection in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). NOA 17-0426.11

Atlas Armor Hurricane Screens are made of a combination of Polyester and Aramid (sometimes known by its DuPont trademarked name Kevlar). Aramid is used in making bullet proof vests and high strength racing car bodies. The two materials make a very stable screen product with superior strength and durability. Our screens have a better value than polypropylene fabric (used in yellow ski tow ropes) and polyurethane fabric (trampolines) competitors. But, unlike our competitors, our screen can be used every day in full sun without fading, shrinking or cracking (not good characteristics for either a hurricane screen or any roll down screen). Our screens also don’t rot or mildew and are not affected by airborne pollutants. In fact, our fabric screens are so tough we provide a 10 Year limited replacement warranty against all of the above problems.

Another value … peace of mind.

Benefits of Hurricane Screens

Hurricane screens, also known as wind screens, are designed to protect homes and buildings from the damaging effects of hurricanes and other severe weather conditions. Here are some potential benefits of installing hurricane screens:

  1. Protection from wind-borne debris: Hurricane screens can prevent flying debris such as broken glass, tree limbs, and other objects from damaging windows and other openings in a home or building during a storm.

  2. Enhanced security: Hurricane screens can provide an added layer of security to a property, making it more difficult for intruders to break in through windows or doors.

  3. Energy savings: By blocking the sun’s rays, hurricane screens can help reduce the amount of heat that enters a building, which can result in lower cooling costs.

  4. Increased property value: Installing hurricane screens can potentially increase the value of a property by making it more desirable to potential buyers who live in areas prone to severe weather.

  5. Insurance discounts: Many insurance companies offer discounts on homeowners’ insurance policies for properties that have hurricane screens installed, as they can help mitigate damage and reduce the risk of costly claims.

Our screens have been certified in a formal lab and then REAL-WORLD TESTED for the last 10 YEARS: results of being in 17 tropical storms and 20 hurricanes, ZERO (0) screen failures (fabric coming out of its tracks). When the screen comes out of its tracks, you lose ALL protection. No other screen company can make this claim.
